As a child, listening to all different genres of music and learning the music business from recording rights through to publishing rights. In 2000 Dean entered a DJ competition judged by London's Kiss 100, this competition was out of 500 DJs from across the north and south, after 12 heats, Dean was crowned the winner. It was the recognition that Dean wanted after slugging away for so many years on the decks. Shortly after the competition Dean was spotted by Naughty promotions in the UK, he then began to travel to various venues across europe playing main sets at venues such as Pacha, Ministry of Sound, Aquarium, Emporium, Camden Palace, the list goes on and on. Also taking him across to Ibiza to play in El divine. The name “R3set” first appeared on forums such as SoundCloud & Facebook and was used to encapsulate the re-invention of everything that had been before. Dean stated: "I’ve been through the mechanics of the music business, from signing records to managing Artists and producers, so collectively Resetting or “R3set” entails everything from my career so far... If I can continue to contribute to the music industry as I always have I’ll be happy, music is my passion… I have met many great friends, Artists, Producers, Record label owners over the years so within my own career within the business I’ve had a blessing to always be with friends…." Starting his “industry career” with Matthew Meyers of UK's Soul shaker fame and working at the world famous PWL buildings in London's borough high street this was previously owned by Peter Waterman of Pop Idol fame, the building produced Massive hits from Kylie Minogue through to Jason Donovan and Rick Ashley. Dean continued to sign many productions to his label and also brokered hundreds of records domestic and international. Dean stated “Having the love for what you want to play on the turntables is one thing, but knowing what “your label partners” were looking for in the commercial music business was a completely different story, that’s the key to understanding “what sells”. As any independent A&R, Dean extending his profile by working with Some of themost well known artists on the scene at the time: Bananarama, Donna Summer, Feddie Le Grand, Funkstar Deluxe, Mylo, Mark Morrison (Return of the Mack), Lisa Scott Lee, 3T (the Late Michael Jackson nephews), Beats and Styles, Camille Jones (Feddie Le grand - Creeps) Jason Nevin's, Mani Hoffman (Starlight - supermen lovers).
